How was the Holiday Shopping in Philly

Holiday Shopping In Philly

Terminal Reading Market

A market that has everything! If you go, be sure to eat a cheesesteak, the typical Philadelphia dish. I don’t remember which diner I bought, but they all look perfect!

City Hall

City-hall

The most relaxed city hall you will probably see in your life! What a beautiful building !!! And now, in winter, there is a Winter Garden (with native plants only), craft fair, merry-go-round, ice skating, and snacks!

Chinatown

chinatown

I ended up not exploring this neighborhood much. I just walked by. But I noticed that there are a lot of Asian restaurants in general that add diversity to the place.

Prepare your breath because the staircase is massive, and you will want to run up too!

Rodin Museum

Rodin-Museum

Museum with works by Rodin and is very close to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This region is full of museums to visit; it is worth leaving a day just for that!

Independence National Historical Park

Independence-National-Historical-Park

Where the whole thing happened, the United States declared independence. There, you will learn a little more about the formation of the country, customs, and a tour full of history!

Old City

Old-city

It is the old part of the city; it has existed since the British colonial era. I recommend visiting the Betsy Ross House, home of the girl who sewed the first American flag. It is a museum with the things of the time, genuinely a journey through time!

Franklin Bridge

Franklin-bridge

Bridge over the Delaware River is super cute, and with that classic design, almost a Golden Gate, only blue! Kick Take the opportunity to stroll along the banks of the river, as there are plenty of cool things to do: shows, bars, restaurants, ice skating (in winter), etc.

Ritten House

A charming neighborhood that I recommend for strolling, shopping, and going to cool restaurants!

Shopping

In addition to Rittenhouse, I suggest three great streets for shopping: Market Street, Walnut Street, and Chestnut Street. The three are parallel and home to all the famous stores you’ve heard of, so I won’t give you names. I suggest walking these streets and entering the stores you want for a shopping day without a script!

Restaurants

Restaurants

I confess that visiting restaurants is not my family’s focus on trips like this; we end up in the fast-food of life. This time I met the famous Shake Shack.

Ciao Pizza

Ciao-Pizza

The best pizza I’ve ever eaten in my life. I met the first time I went to Philadelphia and fell in love !!! Simple place, nothing tourist, with pizza made to order and by Italians. It makes your mouth water to remember!

Marino Bros Cheesesteaks

A place is specialized in cheesesteaks and very tasty !!! It is in Old City; it is a good tip for lunch or snack when strolling there.

Important Information

There is an 8% shopping tax in Philadelphia, which will be a little more expensive than the initial price, but nothing excessive. The city is 2 hours from New York, and it’s super quiet and cheap to go there by bus if I’m not mistaken; I bought a ticket for $ 10! As with any international trip, I always give a tip: unlock and take your credit card for emergencies! We never know what can happen, and there are places that no longer accept cash payments, just cards! Stay tuned to that detail!
